I was just watching a video clip of Bernie Mac's Immune System Disease, wow! It's so interesting exploring medicine, and learning about the human body. So sad how people have to suffer and try to live a 'normal' life when they have medical conditions/ problems; they accept life for what it is, living it to the fullest, and grateful for what they have; knowing the true understanding of loving life.   
Bernie had a rare immune system disease called Sarcoidosis.

After my illness earlier this year, I really feel for anyone who is tethered and depend ant on medications for their conditions. I'm so thankful that my illness was a temporary thing, I just couldn't imagine being on medication all the time, for a real long period of time, or for the rest of my life...the side effects really wreck the quality of life.
There is a rather rare here hereditary disease on my mother's side...it only effects the women, and during her time and earlier on, there was no way to know which women were carriers of this gene and since the disease showed no symptoms till midlife, the women carriers had already married and bore daughters of their own, and by this time in their life, their daughters had already started families too.
DNA testing for a specific gene is an amazing advancement for families like this.
