In my travels
I been going back and forth across Mn all week. Seems the corn harvest has started. I encountered a truck loaded with corn, so me being me, I grab my mic for my 2 way communication device and say---" aw shucks, hey bud, ya got your ears on?"

Re: In my travels
By the way... how much is a bag of corn from the local farmers selling them on the street corners? Here it's four dollars for a huge bag, not sure how many ears you get in the burp lap bag.

If it's good sweet table corn, that's a great deal, if it's just feed corn....it's a good deal for feeding squirrels.

Re: In my travels
speaking of we ran across a bunch of those MN trucks recently.. dumb shits dont even have the corn covered. the road was littered with whole ears of corn and we were inches from gettting nailed by a few in flight cobs as a truck passed going the other way. cant imagine what a full cob of corn would do to a windshield when both it and the windshield are doing 55+ mph in opposite directions.

Re: In my travels
So, I'm following a mini van across MN. After a few miles, I notice the girl in the back seat was occasionally waving at the fields. Some harvested, some not. They pull into a c-store and I decided to as well since I needed drinky stuff.
I asked the parents if I could ask thier daughter a question. They said it was ok.
I asked the girl why she was waving at some of the fields.
She said she wasn't sure but her parents told her she should.
I thanked her and asked the parents why they told her this.
They said her name was Amber.
Then they said, you know, Amber waves at grain.

Re: In my travels
Yep, mais is corn, but here we spell it "maize" , I think the word "maize" has a Spanish history early in this country and was used by native Americans and the earliest settlers.
