Re: 1 song, Several Artists
My Maria originally recorded by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods, covered a few years ago by Brooks & Dunn.
Guns N' Roses' Sweet Child O' Mine was covered by Sheryl Crow (a while ago)
Sammy Hagar recorded Rick Springfield's I've Done Everything For You back in the 80's.
i bumped this up, because all the covered songs i just listed, were heard on the radio today by me, and it made me remember this...
anyone know of something more current?

I saw that when I was looking for the one I mentioned, but didnt get to listen to it yet. But Joan Jett is so hot, she could sound like Rodney Dangerfield and I'd still love it!

Re: 1 song, Several Artists
Actually I like the original idea, only for the sake of the song, and how great it is. Only the best written songs have had multiple artists wanting to record them, and when they cross over genres, another great thing...plus the trivia involved as I love to find out musical things...of any sort, Frampton was with Humble Pie, Neil Schone was with Santana at a very very young age. Jimmy Page actually played bass with the Yardbirds, just because...he was well known as a great guitarist but hey they needed a bass player...cool stuff!

Bob Seger, Metallica - Turn the Page
Bob Seger, Bonnie Tyler - Against The Wind Live
Ike/Tina Turner, Bob Seger - Nutbush City Limits
Just witnessed a vintage video of Seger singing Ramblin Gamblin Man on a sixties TV show, sporting a Beatles haircut!

A Seger fan? Cool. Bet that look was quite different than hair down to his ass and a full beard.
How about Seger and Dave Edmunds- Get Out of Denver.

All true. But as above Joan Jett did an album of covers.
As did Annie Lennox. All though Listening to her version of the Clash's Train in Vain was a shocker, when you understand ALL the words.
Eric Clapton did a album of all blues covers too.

Eric Clapton did a album of all blues covers too. Man Clapton can stand tall with any blues player, I've seen him do a wide variety of blues from screamin electric with Buddy Guy to what I know as "playing on the porch" style....just an acoustic, answer and call it's known as, play a chord then a riff around it, then the next chord....so accompany ones self and play lead in between, which I am ...ahem learning. Lets say I am giving it my best.....He is amazing, so blessed to be around in the same era and get a chance to see him play, live or on T.V.
