Waylon Jennings/Kris Kristofferson - Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again)

I've never heard the Waylon version of that song But I remember hearing Kris Kristofferson's recording of it when I was a kid and I still love that song.
I know this is a bit off topic and I apologize, but mention of this song reminded me of something. Back in the late 60's and early 70's (when radio was radio) the local Newspaper would post the current week's Top Ten Song listing every Saturday. And every week, they selected 1 song to which they would publish the words and guitar chords for one current recording as well as a bit of a bio on the artist. Loving music the way I did, I would dutifully cut each one out and put them in a folder, which I still have today. I hope you guys get a kick outta this, but some of what I have are:

Lean on Me - Bill Whithers
Ruby - Kenny Rogers and the First Edition (Yes, THAT Kenny Rogers!)
Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey - Paul McCartney
Share The Land - The Guess Who
Marrakesh Express - Crosby Stills & Nash
My Sweet Lord - George Harrison
Lookin Out My Back Door - Creedence Clearwater Revival
One Less Bell To Answer - The Fifth Dimension
Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
And of course, Lovin Her Was Easier - Kris Kristofferson.

I was a pre-pubescent with a changing voice, teaching myself how to play the guitar trying to play each new song every week. Im sure I sounded like Mr Haney from Petticoat Junction or a cow giving birth and Im surprised my family still talks to me. Wow, I really just dated myself!

He performed it on one of his "live" albums. I prefer his version... then again, I do think he was the greatest artist that ever lived!

Speaking of Kris..... In my opinion, he's not that good of a singer, but he wrote some awesome songs! which were sung by him and tons of other artists. Too many to name!

Youre SO right. He wrote Me & Bobby McGee, although I never heard him do it. But in keeping with the post, obviously, Janis Joplin made it a classic!

Re Fleetwood Mac and "Black Magic Woman"---Yes, Fleetwood Mac in its original incarnation in the late 60's. Not nearly as smooth as Santana's version, the 'Mac version is very bluesy and sounds like it was recorded in a saloon somewhere.
