The Family Vacation
Ah yep...We'd pack the night before, Dad demanded that we jump up at some gawd awful time of the morning before sunrise, pile into the car that had the pop-up camper already hitched and wired.
2 adults and 4 kids treking across many county lines and several state borders. There was car sickness, whining, sibling bickering, annoying "Are we there yet?" yell outs, disagreements about what radio station to listen too and a countless string of gas station bathrooms.
Did you come from a family that had the yearly family vacation tradition? Was getting there really half the fun for you?

Re: The Family Vacation
Yup, I'd rather have just stayed home alone due to the
melodrama B/S, not so sure if it was worth the trip.

Re: The Family Vacation
Are you talking about when you were a kid, or when you took your kids?
Did ya'all play those car trip games? My parents didn't play those "I Spy with my eye.." kinda stuff, knew nothing of them...we were left to amuse ourselves and irritate the crap outta them!

Re: The Family Vacation
It happened more while growing up, the embarrassment at times was unreal making fools out of themselves with the smallest, of stupid things. With my children no matter where we went, or what we did, we always had tons of fun!

Re: The Family Vacation
UGh...I remember when my two older siblings had their drivers license, then it was the constant bickering between the two of them on who's turn it was to drive next.
