Gas Pumps
I've heard and read that the ethanol pumps mix the ethanol and gas in the pump. This is why the stations can offer so many different blends without having seperate storage for each.
Since one of the problems with bio-diesel is keeping it mixed, why aren't these type of pumps used for bio-diesel.

Good question. BTW... the price per gallon of regular gas here plummeted a mear nickel this last week from 3.99 a gallon to 3.95, what a bargain huh? BIG WHOPPIE!

Re: Gas Pumps
When I filled the car on Friday it cost $59 for abouto 13 gallons. When I filled the truck last it cost $4.80 per gallon. That's for a total of $850 and it's not uncommon to spend over $1,300 per week on diesel.

OH MY!!!!!!!! I truly feel that our society will revert to the "Little House on the Prairie" lifestyle, where the Mom and Pop shops in the near localities will boom once again, due to people not able to spend fundings on gas or able to own vehicles etc.

I've respected the Amish for many years. I've wondered the last few years if they didn't have the correct idea all along.
I checked and mis-spoke about the gas cost. It was $59.30 for 14.7 gallons.
There is also a push here to require all gas pumps to compensate for temperature differences as they do in Canada. This simply allows for a true [for example] 10 gallons at 80 degrees as it does at -20.

Re: Gas Pumps
we have Amish in our neck of the woods too its hard not to run into them doing 7 miles a hour like a tractor and the days of the neighborhood store might be on a comeback for sure at that speed it take all day to go to county market and get a box of Kraft mac and cheese , i remember that they were 5 for a buck at one time, now there a 1.19 a box and every thing has gone up from every ones shipping cost tripling, the was doing a mail route we had to give it up, we were losing money on paper at tax time we went from 25 bucks to fill the explore to 75 when we stopped . on the 3rd of July i was putting gas in the Harley and a guy next to me was gripping about spending 90 to fill his van....and i spent ten.
we took a ride yesterday to a swap meet for old cars and bike and snowmobiles and was glad to see gas down to 3.99 a gal. but in the last 6 months the gas has gone down to less then 4 bucks then back up it goes.....
