92 cents
92 cents...that's what I paid for one rather small puny bell pepper at the grocery market yesterday, hell, I wanted to get red, yellow and orange peppers too for my fajitas but they were 2 bucks each....our economy sucks a big bumpy oozy warty one right now...
Next year...my vegetable garden is going to be a bit bigger and I may have to dig my canning supplies out of storage.

Re: 92 cents
If I had the room, time and ambition, I'd be growing as many veggies as possible.
With the "God only knows where" much of this stuff come from not to mention the chemicals used---

QUOTE (pepper @ July 19, 2008, 17:14)
My vegetable plot is filled with tomatoes now, I'd have to grow them in containers if any plants are still available at the nurseries...I'll just plan for next year..
Still can't believe it...jeezus...92 cents for one little bell pepper.

Re: 92 cents
$1.39 is outrageous! Fruit and produce is just gettin' totally unaffordable!

Re: 92 cents
This darn gasoline thing is causing everything to get higher and higher. Every time I go to the grocery it seems like the things that I need have gone up anywhere from 5 cents to as much as 50 cents. Milk products are really going out of sight. I've been stocking up on canned goods before they get much higher. Not as good as fresh but a little easier on the budget.

Re: 92 cents
Food prices have been rising for over 30 years. Mostly due to smaller packaging yet leaving the price the same.
If ya really want to do something about gas prices---quit using it. Also tell your federal representatives that the fees on oil speculators need to be raised. It's the speculators causing the problem.

Coffee is just outrages what they want for that. I'm just happy that gas came down here. It was $3.76.
