Open Minded Scale
If you had the 'open minded' scale in front of you, from 1-10, 10 being the most open minded, where would you place yourself?
Are you the type of individual that stays diplomatic in understanding others, their lives and their circumstances in relation to who they are and what they might be going through, or have been through? Do you weigh it all out staying neutral, non-judgmental and open minded? I know this a very broad and wide-end open question, as it can go from one extreme for one, to another extreme for another, since we are all different, and look at all things in different ways. Usually, mine is normally between a 8-10,

Re: Open Minded Scale
I am very open minded and will not judge anyone, unless they do something that is really wrong.
I would say i am a 9-10

Re: Open Minded Scale
Most of the scales I encounter have fairly open minded people staffing them. Unless there's something seriously wrong with the truck.

Re: Open Minded Scale
I think of open mindedness as being able to live in a world full of things and people that you don't agree with or don't understand, and you accept that with respect. You are capable of sharing and exchanging thoughts, ideas and opinions with others that are so very different from you without labeling these ideas of others as right or wrong.

Re: Open Minded Scale
I consider myself a pretty open minded person, a 9-10. Everyone has things that affect their lives and the way they act. If I disagree with someone about something I usually tell them that we can "disagree agreeably". I don't like to argue. I think it is pointless. I don't like to be judged and therefore I try not to be judgmental. There are some occasions however when I feel that I absolutely have to speak up but that is usually when another party is being harassed or hurt in some way and I am defending them.

Re: Open Minded Scale
Arguments do suck, but discussions and debates are rather exciting and stimulating.

Re: Open Minded Scale
I think debates and discussions can be carried out with passion but without anger or hurt.
I love a good debate, whether I'm a debator or a spectator.
I truly love listening to others,
I think of arguments as just being about all parties just wanting to be right, to be right and to win.
Some have this need to win win win, and some have the need to understand and be understood.

Re: Open Minded Scale
Exactly LandH! We will think of ourselves as very open minded but some issues, our minds will slam shut.
Pedophilia is one, my mind is closed and locked on that one, it will never be the right thing to me regardless of anything anyone says...never.Drinking and driving is another...other than those things, I'm pretty open to listen to opposite ideas.
