Follow the light..........
This is a topic near and dear to my heart. A subject that begs for a proper airing and discussion. I would hope that all will participate but I'm sure most will ignore. If that's the case, then go ahead and pretend that it doesn't matter!!
This topic concerns is..........what men among us turns on a light in the bathroom, at night when relieving themselves? I personally am a very brave man and as such, I just "wing it". I mean I wander into the bathroom, most of the times even lift the seat on occasion and just let the river flow......in the freakin' dark no less!!!
Now, I'm not always "on target", so a clean up is necessary. I do pride myself in the fact that most of the time I listen for the familiar sound of liquid striking liquid to judge if I'm off to the left of the target or off to the right of the target area or for that matter, if I'm even in the correct room!!
Now the women, the ones that actually sit down to do their business, have it an easier time with the "target acquired" issue. So the light question is somewhat moot.
Who among the WN family of miscreants, perverts, ex-cons, psychopaths, low lives, rednecks, rubber doll aficionados, farm animal lovers, other-team players, porn loving (both gay and straight), size queens, short dicks, erectile dysfunction victims and of course Walmart shoppers, has attempted to drain the vein in total darkness with any success?
Would you care to expound your trials and tribulations as it applies to this subject?

Buying a cheap night lite at one of those Dollar Stores will benefit everything and everyone in more ways than one, trust me!

I'd imagine that standing and peeing in the dark for a woman is at best difficult. I don't always turn on a light, but usually sit anyway.

I don't like to turn on a light because--well, very early morning is dark and my eyes don't care for it.

Re: Follow the light..........
One reason I use a night lite, my eyes can't adjust and focus properly from darkness to bright light quickly either at that time of the morning hours, we're all different I guess. Another thing is that I want to make sure I can see what's on the floor as I make my way to the facility, since I can't use slippers at that time either, tripping and falling (ending up in the ER at 3:00 with a sprained ankle is not fun), plus I don't need anything squishing between my toes/feet, AND.... no need for a lady to go into the bathroom finding the seat up with her arse sitting in frigid cold toilet water after she's had numerous sweet discussions with the man/men in the house. Now if those don't wake you up I'm not sure what will, and btw.... that is why I have a small night light when I travel to see my Mr. Tidybowl man in the wee morning hours!

Re: Follow the light..........
I never turn the light on as my eyes adapt to the dark quickly, and as a woman, i don't miss the hole on the loo, however, my boys do not turn the light on, and do miss the big hole in the middle of the loo, thank goodness for floor tiles, but i still can't understand what the bloody problem is with turing the bloody light on and getting the pee in the loo!!!! It isn't rocket science guys the hole is big enough!!!!
Not that it bothers me!!

Why would i stand if I don't have to? If ya have to take pride at hitting the toilet opening in the dark at age 58, then I feel sorry you don't have better challenges in your life.

Re: Follow the light..........
I thought sure I would get some comical retorts to this post. Maybe a sharing of "war stories" as it pertained to my fellow oldsters' similar experiences. I meant this as an extremely tongue in cheek subject and which I thought I expressed it in a manner that reflected that. I guess I was wrong........

Re: Follow the light..........
Hey, I'm mellow...it is obviously a humor subject but i didn't quite understand your need for the list of "...rednecks, size queens, walmart shoppers..." and all that...but I overlooked it. I've come to realize that you do seem to have a strong need to label people, that's your business, whether or not I like it or am offended or amused by it is my business.
I think that maybe it was that you feel men sitting down to pee is something to shameful to be kept secret...maybe you haven't quite developed the kind of friendship with some that you can joke like that with them.
(Whoopsie...when I made this reply, I was reply to a remark about "...the hostility.." and I guess while I was typing my reply to the above post, that remark was edited out with the time limit editing feature...so sorry, if my comments seem to come outta nowhere)

Re: Follow the light..........
Oh come on now Chazzy...tongue in cheek, tongue in cheek!!!! I was freakin' joking! I didn't know I was treading on sacred ground here! I wasn't aware that I wasn't being politically correct with this subject!
What, you never heard the joke about women who stand to pee? Or am I possibly trampling on someones sensibilities with this?
Possibly a list from the members here of off limits subjects to be addressed to the insensitive clods like me, is called for because I am running out of ideas for "interesting" subjects. Mostly, I like to add some humor and some obvious exaggeration in my choice of posts where it's warranted.
Oh and I am now an official Walmart shopper. What, with the inflation that is rampant in the market place, I've had to bite the bullet and shop there! I have to admit, it's a fun place to go to people watch and at the same time, save some money. Of course I go there "incognito"!!

Re: Follow the light..........
Oh now you c'mon...you do love to lump up people in categories, pigeon hole them, sterotype and label them.
Chill a bit...you asked...I answered, I answered as honestly and as politely as I possibly could. It's that simple really.
All my replies regarding the original topic, were in fun.
I know, many of us know that what you say allot of the times is your sense of humor, but I cannot change the fact that you and your kind of humor does rub some people the wrong way.
Now, seriously dear, everything I've typed here is meant in a very straight forward but yet even toned and mellow way.
Okay? Just trying to get us both on a common area of understanding... for instance...you making a joke about shopping at Walmart incognito...that's just a joke to you, but to others, you just might be coming off sounding like a stuck up person who feels superior to others and makes fun of people that live in a lower income bracket and shop discount. I cannot dictate who will laugh at your jokes, and who will be peeved at them.

People who are stuck in the lower income bracket? I'm not one of those? My income was exactly $26,932 last year. Oh yeh, I'm snob material. I missed all the pissed off readers that replied to my "comical" references to Walmart. Would you care to point out which ones they were? I am a Walmart shopper! I'm just not proud to stand and wave a flag about it! So the reference of "incognito".
Seriously though, this subject was meant to be "tongue in cheek" and because of my "insensitive" use of certain words, has spun into a perceived notion of a class put down by me. Well, with my astronomical 2007 income, who else but me can stand up with my nose in the air? Me, Mr. Snob!!!!
I'm sorry this was blown out of proportion. I guess humor is best left to the professionals........

Hell, I'd rather turn on the light just to make sure the seat is the position down before I plop my ass down! I guess I could just feel for that in the dark, but...I'd rather do the visual check.

There you go, this is exactly the type of response I was hoping for with this subject.
Chazzy, if you are ever in need of someone to properly position your rear end onto the seat in times of a lighting failure, I would be honored to be of service to you. I know you'd do the same for me! You have my cell phone number......
