What can be done???
In one day, four youngster were stabbed in London, sadly they all died, that has made the total to over 20 this year.
As a mum i worry so much about my boys, even though my village is, at the moment safe.
What on earth can be done to stop this terrible waste of life, these are young children who's lives are just beginning.

That is such a sad story. Was there a reason behind the killings? Was this the French students? I didn't hear a reason given on the public radio station I was tuned into. In general life needs to have a higher value placed on it then 'stuff'. Seems some how any more the values of society have skewed away from what really is important. I don't know if it's just a age when 'things' are of more value then life but it sure seems like it.
As far as protecting our kids thats a tough question to answer. I'm beginning to think if we shield them from the bullies and thugs when they are younger by sending them to better schools etc., when they become adults they are at a bit of a disadvantage-in the real world, when they face these types and then need to figure out how to deal with them at life full speed ahead. If we were to let them fight it out in the beginning maybe they will be better equipped later one to deal with and make good choices. I don't know the answers but maybe it's as simple as love your kids and teach them how to love back and maybe that fixes the problems one kid at a time. To many kids don't have anyone to love them or even to show them whats right and wrong.

I don't know what the magical answer is. I have to deal with this type of stuff everyday. There was a program over here called "scared straight". You don't hear too much about it anymore. It was guys who did some stupid things and were sent to prison, they are the ones who would talk with the kids. Straight talk that is, none of this sugar coated stuff. Then they used to tour some of the prisons and actually show where these guys had to spend the rest of their lives living. It usually woke up a few of the kids, but there is always one or two who thought they would never get caught, but they always do. But know matter what, it is a total senseless waste of lives for both the victim and the kid doing it.

I remember tht show. I'm sure it was canceled bcause of ratiings. The ones that thought they'd never get caught are the ones that end up in prison.--usually

No the French one was a different story, the knife killings are all under 20 year olds, just out on the town or just coming home from school ect. Some were because they looked the wrong way at someone else, i mean, come on, things are getting so bad, not just over here but all over the world. Something needs to be done, and soon.
The poor French men, that was a dreadful way to die, again, just so pointless, and a dreadful waste of life.
