"Those were the good ole days"
Events, Places, and People.
Getting fresh Ice Cream from the Milk Man (he'd give the kids free Ice Cream from his truck), Potato Chips delivered directly to your house.
Learning to ride a bike (on a very steep hill, many scrapes, lol), then to driving a car, receiving my license, "WooHoo!."
Teenage years...spending endless hours with High School Friends from sports, sleepovers, and parties.
The joy of sitting with my Grandmother chatting for hours in her kitchen.
Being a Mom, teaching and watching my children grow through the years, experiencing the trials, and tribulations.
Spending and enjoying the holiday seasons with Family and Friends.
Oh then there are those special places I definitely enjoyed; Penny Candy General Store, Animal Petting Farms, Amusement Parks, Roller Skating Rinks, Country Fairs, Miniature Golf. Going to the beach making Sand Castles, and splashing in the Ocean.
The list is endless, what are a some of yours?
tica...

It does seem life was better. I know it was much easier.

Re: "Those were the good ole days"
It also seemed like we had much more time for the finer things in life.

Re: "Those were the good ole days"
like the times when a Gallon of Gas was less than 1/2 minimum hourly wage? and you could buy a soda in a glass bottle & a big candy bar with $1 and still get change back...and the only thing you got from kissing a girl was a cold, or cooties...or beat up by her big brothers...?

Re: "Those were the good ole days"
For me, it was getting on your bicycle on a hot summer afternoon, not having to call anyone because you knew EXACTLY where to find them, and knowing that the $3 you had in your pocket would get you two slices of pizza AND a big drink later on!
No worries..........man I miss that!

Re: "Those were the good ole days"
I had a '65 chevy BelAir - a $20 bill went a long ways. With the gas @ 25 cents a gallon, $5 would fill the tank up, the extra money was enough to take my date to a movie, bowling, then a late snack/dinner.

playing in the woods with a gang of friends, building camps and pulleys, riding your "chopper bike" on the pavements and knowing almost every other kid you bumped into.
pretending to be drunk on cider, the excitement that birthdays used to bring, going to the fair and the rides were 20p a go, climbing trees and just messing about outside...

Watching my friend play baseball, listening to the Tigers on the little radio - calling out the plays. Hot sun beating down on us, dirt and dust all around, humidity thick enough to feel like a blanket coating our skin.
Those were the days.

Re: "Those were the good ole days"
Reminiscing... about the good ole days having a lemonade stand selling lemonade, playing Marco Polo with friends in a swimming pool at night, playing tag when it was dark out, catching lightening bugs, and digging up night crawlers to go fishing the next morning.
