For chat rooms, I find the Java based is the best, and WN has the best of the best for their chat rooms, not like other websites, where you feel you're dizzy and in a tizzy, I've been to many a chat rooms that don't have a Java base and they are horrible. The two major messengers Yahoo and MSN, work well, sometimes they have their glitches, and most of my friends that are on one, are usually on the other, just in case one goes down, I'm covered by the other. Chatting via a messenger using a microphone has it's benefits over a land line or cell phone due to not having to pay for it, that is, if you don't have an unlimited based time/minutes with your cell phone provider or land line... not having a monthly flat rate with unlimited out of area calling via your telephone company. Another great benefit of using a microphone is, no one can pick up the phone to listen to your conversation.
