Boredom, complete and utter boredom...
We've talked over and over again about what makes us laugh, but what bores us?
When I was young, so young and this old world was new to me, all the standard jokes were just hilarious. As I got older, heard them repeatedly...oh sure, sometimes a newer version but still the same old joke, it got harder to make me laugh.
TV, especially sitcoms...after about 10 minutes it's like I know the whole plot already, and can accurately guess what ole one liner puns are coming up. Even mysteries and dramas lose their "Who dunnit" quality.
Porno, kids are sneaking peeks from their bedroom computers so early on that by the time they reach sexual maturity, their peak...they have seen every whacked out bizarre fetish and porn and are bored to bits with hetero/erotic intimacy ? That's pretty sad really.
Is it aging to a point where we've seen it, heard it all before over and over again?
Is it growing up with the internet, cable and a world of immediate communications and media?
What makes so much become so cliche so quickly?
Do I still laugh, oh yeah, I do laugh allot, I do find humor in my life everday, but not from comedy, a sitcom, a written or spoken joke. I laugh at things I see, things that just happen, just are there, like children being children, like my pets doing stupid silly things, etc...
The natural world, unscripted, real and delightful...never boring.

Hey, religion, philosopy, ethics, theology...all fascinaating...a bad sermon, always boring.
My hubs can bore the crap outta me, he'll say something once and it's funny, but after 8 years of hearing him say the same shit all the time, the funny has long worn off..

Not much time to get bored. My life is to busy. Anyway, no reason to get bored when all one has to do is to jump on WN for a bit.

Men....I find that after about 3 weeks or so I'm just bored to death with one and have to move on. That and history. Anything that has to do with history.

At times, T.V. is boring. If I'm sick, I'll it on to mesmerize me, putting me to sleep.
