LIFE AFTER THE NAVY
I am on a new adventure starting in a few days. I am retiring from the NAVY after 20 years of service and will be starting a new career.... problem is.... I don't know what I want to be when i grow up!!! I have good skills in a few different areas.... but I feel that I am not up to the competition level that's out there. I can sell myself for sure... I have no problem making contacts and charming the pants of off someone... In a nut shell I can talk the talk...but can I walk the walk? That's the question I toss around in my head and then I start to doubt myself... The NAVY was easy and I could get by, by kicking ass and taking names or simply BSing my way and still collect a good paycheck and bennies, but it's the only life I know when it comes to "WORK". Any how I just wated to get it off my chest.... Thanx for listening.

Re: LIFE AFTER THE NAVY
retirement is a whole new ball game,,it will be two yrs this Feb. that I took the plunge, its takes a lot to make the decision of leaving, (job, career, buisness etc.) behind you and all the people you knew. I havent done any work since, probably cuz the benifits, anuity income and the memory of spending over 30 yrs kissing the publics ass(working for a utility co.) are still strong enough for me to think about employment right now. All Ive been doing is going to the gym 3 days/wk, do all the shopping, check out all the T&A at the malls, drive my new explorer all over, any repairs around the house, pretty much have it made, there are some other areas (sex) I want to explore, but marriage puts the brakes on that for now, but other than that I pretty much enjoy not having to be anywhere at a certain time, good luck to you and your retirement.
