So many vets in my family, so many vets I've known, I've sat and listened for hours to their stories and recollections, sometimes their own families don't want to hear them talk, I love to listen to them.
Our surviving World War vets are dwindling in numbers now, the Korean War conflict vets too. They were just kids on a farm one day and the next day, on their way to seeing things, doing things they could not have ever imagined.

I am a TOTAL Patriot. I wrote a song soon after 911 and just wrote another one about our people in Iraq. I have the utmost respect for ALL these people! Im going to be posting them on a site very soon. If anyone wants the lyrics, just ask, and I'll share. I can barely sing them, they're tear jerkers. Thank God for all of them and the sacrifice they make!

Absolutely! Too many of my Veteran friends have passed on now, I'll never forget the hours spent with them, the stories they told me, the emotional release they shared with me. I remember so many times, clasping their hand in mine while they worked through confusing memories...confusing to them because what they were trained to do, what they did for country so often conflicted with everything they were ever taught up until then. One day they were just young boys on their family's farm, living by the weekly sermon of a southern Baptist preacher... then suddenly boot camp an on to battles and combat. Nothing between the preacher and the boot camp ever really prepared them to grow up so suddenly. That's the World War vets, the Vietnam vets had a whole other hell all their own, there and at home.
