game shows
what's your favorite tv game show?
what do you think when a long time host gets replaced? (i.e. Drew Carey replacing Bob Barker on "the Price is Right" 
who is your favorite host of "Family Fued"? Richard Dawson, Ray Combs, Richard Karn, or currently John O'Herlihy(sp)?

I haven't watched either of the shows you mentioned, but I have watched "Deal or No Deal" a couple of times just cuz a relative is crazy about it and talked about it allot...I don't think I like it near as much as she does.
I do kinda like Discovery Channel's "Cash Cab" though.

Bob Barker is my favorite host. My favorite show was Newlywed Game with Bob Eubanks. You just never knew what going to come out of their mouthes.

I'm kinda addicted to gameshows, but lately I'm a bit disturbed by this very prominent trend I'm seeing... It seems like every new gameshow that comes on has a guy in a suit as the host, and one or more female models (complete with boosted cleavage, mini-skirts, and CFM pumps) in the supporting roles.
Deal Or No Deal, one of my favorites otherwise, is definitely the worst in this regard -- Howie Mandel gets to make a big deal about them at the beginning of every show, and then they walk out (all 26 of them) in their low-cut super-short dresses and impossibly high-heels. A few of them get one or two lines per show, but they're obviously intended as eye-candy...
But where are the male models?? If half of their audience is female, shouldn't half of the models be male???
Where's MY eye-candy???????

I've seen allot of clips of "The Gong Show" that was some show, and have heard allot about Chuck Barris...what an odd little man!

I used to love The Gong Show. The Unknown Comic and Gene, Gene The Dancing Machine made me laugh my ass off. And long before Jeff Probst was on Survivor, he hosted Rock N Roll Jeopardy, which was by far my favorite game show ever. I really dont think any one could have better taken over for Bob Barker than Drew Carey.

apparently, there will be a new version premiering on tv soon. not sure when or what network, or who the host will be...

I saw a movie based on Chuck's book, I've heard it was all just a hoax by him, he made it all up but left enough out there to leave it hangin'...it would be like him though, wouldn't it? Kinda "Any Koffman" style@
