What were the parents thinking???
I'm sure we've all met someone with a terrible name, one that you blurt out a laugh when they introduce themselves.
I've known a guy called Bob Slay, in the local area there used to be a car dealership called Dick Lovett, and one of my staff with the surname Hare has an aunt... called Fanny.
I've got a book of genuine British names with some outrageous ones such as... Fanny Tickler, Seymour Butt, Tim Burr, James Bottom Bottom Bottom, Dusty Rhodes and Bill Ding.
So come on... who have you chuckled at?

Re: What were the parents thinking???
I actuallly had a friend a long time ago with the name Mike Hunt...and it was useless trying to get someone to page him in a public place by that shorter name...(for those who may not be familiar with the old phone/page gag...Mike Hunt sounds just like "my cunt" )
(Just a note, we might wanna be careful tossing around full names along with any details or locations, ya know....use your own discretion)

Re: What were the parents thinking???
I don't know anyone with a funny name but I saw something yesterday that almost made me run off the road from laughing so hard.
The elections are coming up for city leaders... I was driving through the next town when I saw a bunch of campaign signs... they were all along the side of the road.. they were put in order like this.. and yes, these were the actual names...

Re: What were the parents thinking???
A few years back, a customer of mine was a couple who's last name was Lis. Their first names were Richard and Ruth. Yep, you guessed it - Ruth Lis and Dick Lis. Imagine trying to keep a straight face during that transaction!

Be thankful you don't have any of the popular Russian names in your families... not got actual ones here, but they have names that translate to... Industrial... and Nuclear Reactor. No joke.
Saw a van a while back here for a cleaning company.... Spruce Springclean.
