I like family history, genealogy, riding my motorcycle, camping, backpacking. I know a little about a lot of things, but a lot about a single thing.

I still can't believe that, that guy set his dick on fire.

I need to remove the old railroad ties and replace them with some sort of decorative boarder.

Ah yeah, I need something too, to border the driveway and keep the gravel from spreading out all over the lawn, and just make it look neater,

Well, good night...I'll be up for a little while longer, I've got a doc appointment tomorrow for a check up, which means blood testings, which means I have to fast after midnight, which means I'm obsessively thinking about food right now...

Re: Talkative
I've read up, but still not sure what one uses to...as you put it "light the wick"!!

So NRG...do you find other artifacts besides arrowheads? Clay pipes are so cool, some are plain I know, some are animal figures, I've seen a dove one once. I've found a few Indian game balls too.

Tica, what kind of antiques do you prefer? I love them all but farm tools are so interesting, to see them with all the wear history of being used and repaired. Depression glass is sooo pretty, and of course, my big favorite are the antique carved shell cameos!

Re: Talkative
ive found almost everything except a whole unbroken pottery, i've got knives, drills, scrapers, clam shell beads, grater stones(flour grinders) spears, buffalo shoulder shovels, bone fish hooks, pipes, stones, i even found a place where they figured out how to make glue from buffalo hooves, cuz they were taking out old broken knife blades & gluing in new ones. Ive found figurines of women, with very "detailed features" of the women

Re: Talkative
The fish hooks are pretty cool, they find allot of them around here, there are a few unexcavated caves but they are protected and hidden by the land owners, they have cave paintings and have remained mostly undisturbed.

There's like a stonehenge formation only much smaller in the middle of the woods not too far from me, very very difficult to find, and often those that do happen on it, can't find it again if they try! The creek and river beds in that area are good for arrowheads.

Re: Talkative
That's what I need to do. I have to find my arrowhead collection. I'm wondering if I left in the safty deposit box, or if it's sitting in a box long burried. I'll come across it again. Most of those arrowheads where from Mexico.

Re: Talkative
Just talk to me, lol. I was reading the news today and saw an artilcle that there is a new book coming out about the Titanic, how a scientist has proven that the rivet heads on the ship were not the best steel and broke under pressure and from the freezing water.

The thing is, because it's an area of interest for us, I already knew that, lol. Let's see...1900's steel + freezing water + pressure= sunk ship.

How hard is that to figure out?

I'm just rambling, lol, pay no attention to me

Re: Talkative
that is funny, considering, thats kinda what the investigators said a long time ago, the rivets were made from cheap, lower grade steel that wasntnt good enough for other stuff, so now they come out with a book, that says they found the cause....lmfao
