Local programs
Yeah I know, watch and talk about way too much TV, but right now with the sick old dog and the lousy weather, I'm kinda stuck with it..
So...do you have any of those kinda low budget, locally produced programs broadcasting in your area?
There's a couple that run from St.Louis on Saturday nites, one is broadcast from some country music bar and it's pretty much just a half an hour of the locals line dancing...they may play a country video or two, but pretty much, just a bunch of people line dancing in a bar...
Another one is broadcast from one of the casinos, it's a talent competition with local "celebs" as judges...there's hardly ever anyone sitting in the audience and none of the contestants are even near ready for American Idol...

Re: Local programs
they usually broadcast the Methodist Church service here. makes it nice to see my kids when the Sunday school sings.
they also broadcast all school concerts, high school sporting events (although never a live broadcast), they used to show the city council meetings. not sure if they still do or not.
if there's nothing to broadcast? then they usually just do a slide show listing upcoming town events, or reminders of local ordinances (pooper scooper laws, snow ordinances, etc...) all the while using local radio as a background music source...

Re: Local programs
There used to be some locally produced programs like LH talked about. Thank goodness they are only on cable. Since I do not reveive cable, I don't know if they are still on the air or not.

Re: Local programs
I'm pretty sure this isn't just local, but I like anything they air on RFD.

Re: Local programs
I've actually sat and watched the country line dancing show, just sat there thinking ..."they are gonna do something else aren't they?"....nope..just one line dance after another....
