The Key
You hold in your hand
The key to unlock my heart
It was opened once before
Only to be torn all apart
Take that key
Stick it into the lock
But be prepared for the tears
That have long been forgot...
You can unlock me
But be prepared for more
You have no idea what's been hidden
Behind my hearts door
It's been closed up so long
I'm afraid it shall remain that way forever
Until you came along claiming
We were destined to be together
So now I stand before you
You are holding up the key
The only one of it's kind
The only one that will get you inside of me.

Re: The Key
This is a very illustrative poem. In my life I've held many keys. I've only used one and that has lasted 40 years. I have disappointed so many, and wish I could say I'm sorry to all of them. The opportunity is lost when you give back the key...
