worth a thousand words...
How many of you look for more in a profile photo than just the obvious?
The first time I posted a photo, I got a flattering number of comments about what I put in the foreground (thanks, all!)... and more than a few comments about the lava-lamp in the background. I wasn't too surprised, since I look at what's in the background, too. But some of the photos I've seen -- let's just say that the person posing either didn't realize, or didn't care, what else they were showing us.
I'm not going to mention any of the negative particulars, cuz I'm not trying to embarrass anyone... But some of the positive ones were a very nice aquarium just behind the yummy reclining thighs-to-abdomen view, or an artistic arrangement of shadows on and around the standing full-frontal, or a lovely sunny landscape behind the lovely unabashed nude.
Do you look at photos for other clues to a person's personality? What turns you on, or off, about a photo other than the main event?

Most defintely look in the background. It tells me much about the person in the pic.
For example, if the woman claims to be from WI and there's palm trees in every pic, odds are she isn't there.

Re: worth a thousand words...
I've seen allot in my plus 4 years here, and I have posted so often that if you're gonna take a photo to upload here...clean up the room a bit!
I don't care how good the person in the photo looks, if the room is stacked up with beer cans, full ashtrays, garbage and dirty laundry on the floor, nasty stained carpets, etc...it's a huge turn off!

so Lib when does your "reality" Home Improvement show begin on tv?
theme could be the "nekkid neighbors"...nude participants..and of course a nude hostess (that would be you Lib) wink*wink.
maybe an opening pilot program....two people are siting around the breakfast table..having coffee in the morning and the woman flings out, "you were great last night in bed, but damn..let's do something with those curtains in the living room."' ...hmmm..it has potential
then the hostess can relate the taste in furnishings, housweares, furniture..etc with the couples state of sexuality ....

Re: worth a thousand words...
Nice to know I'm not the only one who notices the dirty dishes or the dirty hands or the curious collection of cute ceramic poodles in the background... Not everybody has to be an artist, but sometimes the details matter, don't they?

I don't believe you are entitled to an opinion on this subject Tropi as you haven't paid the entrance fee.

Re: worth a thousand words...
I noticed alot of photo's have a white wall background (some of them look like padded rooms or cells_ , which they don't give any personality for the individual.
Please excuse me for commenting on this, I really shouldn't say much since I don't have any pics up, due to private reasons.

Good point... I know some people (myself included) are very careful about revealing personal details. I guess the blank white wall is one extreme, and the cluttered family room or messy desk is the other.

Re: worth a thousand words...
I've seen photos of men who claim to be single, but the background screams "I'm took this pic while the wife was out shopping"
An immaculately clean and neat room with fluffy ruffled curtains, dozens of feminine pillows, large water color prints of fairies, flowers, angels....floral printed pastel comforters or sofas, wedding and family photos in the background on the shelves along side an extensive Precious Moments collection...
