Anybody own a Toyota Prius?
I am thinking about purchasing a Prius (hybrid) once my lease expires on my minivan. I work for a car rental company that offers these cars for rent so I try and drive one as often as possible. They seem decent.
What are your experiences, good and bad, with your Prius? Would you buy another one or recommend it to a family member?

You might want to investigate the life of the batteries (Supposedly about five years) and their replacement costs vs. the value of the car at that point in time.

You may also want to check into other manufacturers. The Prius as with all Honda and Toyota "hybrids" no longer qualify for a federal tax deduction.

From what I can gather, Toyota warrantees the battery pack for 150k miles or ten years. It seems all the auto manufacturers give similar warrantees. The batteries seem to develope the same problem with some of the connectors on the battery pack itself. Corrosion of one or two connectors and not the battery cells themselves.
