Singing
Do you have the voice of an angel or can you carry a tune at all?
Are you someone who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, but sing out loud anyway when you hear a favorite song?
Have you ever done the karaoke thing?
Do you know people that think they can sing, but they are so wrong? (I wonder what makes some people seriously pursue an American Idol audition)

Re: Singing
some of those ppl on american idle are a waste of time. But some are pretty brave, getting up on stage, knowing of the verbal abuse they will take from the judges. me, i sound awful. Roy Clark could play anything with strings, but he should never be allowed to sing,,, just my opinion

Re: Singing
There are ones that audition for "American Idol" that know they can't sing and just want their fleeting fame from having no talent, there's some that do have talent but just lose out to someone better, all that's okay...it's the ones that can't sing, but think they can that I find so hard to watch...I always wonder "Good Gawd! Isn't there anyone close to this person that loves them enough to tell them the truth or play them back a recording of their singing?"

Re: Singing
I love to sing. I sing in the car in the shower, anywhere and everywhere. I'm no American Idol, I can carry a tune, I'm just not stupid enough to go onstage and try to do it as a profession. Karaoke...I've done it and I'm really not too fond of it, although I got a pretty good reaction the first time I did it.
Just leave me my shower and my car and no one, least of all me, gets hurt.
And right now, I'm singing even less...got laryngitis.

Re: Singing
Everybody can sing...some not as well as others personally, I crank the tunes and belt it out while I'm driving at night to keep me awake. I can sing really badly, but I have been told I have a very nice speaking voice except it's too fast.

Re: Singing
I'm alot like Pepper, I can carry a tune but I'm more personal with it. After a few drinks I could see myself doing the karaoke thing. The way I look at it is I've always sung to my children before they go to sleep and no one has ever covered up my mouth so I'm doing OK because kids are so honest.

Re: Singing
My daughter hates it when I sing but she gets a good laugh out of it. I can't carry a tune in a bucket... but I do love to sing... not in public, of course.

I can't carry a tune in a bucket, that's one of the reasons I like Willie Nelson so much, cause even I sound better than he does. The other reason??? I like Willie Nelson.

Re: Singing
the worst had to be Roseanne singing the national anthem, that was just shameful, why would anyone with a brain do that. She has the power & media to be role model, & she used it that way.

I never could really blame Roseanne for that...I blame the idiot who decided to book a crude comedian with no singing talent to sing the national athem....if they booked Celine than I would expect something of a much higher standard, but whoever booked Roseanne had to know she would not do a straight up serious rendition.

Too funny that reminds me of my Mom, she couldn't sing well either. One Sunday at church there was this really cute guy and he kept looking over at us, I couldn't tell if it was because my Mom was singing off key or he was interested. I reached over and closed her hymnal and took it away, I whispered in her ear, "It's good we are here today Mom, 'cause the devil made me do it, but everybody around us thanked God when I did it." The boy saw me do it and started laughing and winked at me...he came up to me after services and started talking to me. We went out a couple of times but he went to a different school so it didn't last.
