Was she applying to be a call-girl/gigolo?
Maybe other is "None (Nun)"
Seriously for a second, having done a lot of recruitment recently, I'm pretty sure that this will fall foul of a number of discrimination laws. We can't even ask for someone's age on application forms anymore.

Good Gawd! I'm also wondering what kind of job she's applying for!
The worst application I ever filled out had 4 pages with questions like how often do you have bowel movements, how often do you need to urinate a day, do you ever have nose bleeds and on and on...
I just filled out the stuff I thought was appropriate... work and education history, name, address, telephone...and they called me into work the next day.

Re: Sexual Orientation
Hell, in a job interview here in the states you can't ask about children, age, etc. Pretty soon, they won't let you shake hands when someone comes into the room for an interview and ask, "How are you today" for fear of offending someone...

Re: Sexual Orientation
But they do get away with it here in the states. For the average general job, they are not suppose to be able to ask you if you have a criminal record. But they do, and there is nothing you can do about it, as you have to prove that you didn't get the job because you did not answer the question or answered it with a yes. Do I think its fair for someone who is applying to flip burgers, hell no. Some jobs you have to allow the employer to get criminal history, organization affiliations, credit history, etc. So what does one do???

Re: Sexual Orientation
I believe an employer can no longer ask on a application about your age, weight, marital status and how many, if any children you have.

Here in Texas we can't. The only time we find out about the employee's personal information is when they are hired. Anything that can lead to any sort of descrimination is out of the question.
