I can't believe this woman.
I have a very hard time trying to understand why any woman, who is a mother, would ever do anything like this. Here is the story from the local news channel.
A judge has ordered that the woman charged with beating a 4-year-old boy to death should undergo a psychiatric evaluation because she may be a suicide risk.
The woman, Carla Poole, did not enter a plea in her first court appearance Wednesday in Minneapolis.
Poole is charged with second-degree intentional murder in the death of Demond Reed, who was left in her care while his father served jail time. Prosecutors say it was because the boy soiled his pants.
Poole, 37, is accused of beating Reed to death while her 4- and 6-year-old boys held his arms down.
"It's been kind of hard. I never thought Carla would do anything like this," said Tony Ishmon, Demond Reed's grandfather.
Ishmon is still trying to cope with the brutal death of his grandson.
"It just takes the knot out of me that was my only grandson," he said. "I've never known Carla to do nothing like this. She has 5 kids of her own. She didn't hurt her own kids, why my grandson? I don't understand it."
Wednesday in court, Poole showed no emotion.
She walked in wearing what looked like a padded Velcro bulletproof vest, actually a suicide gown to protect her from using her clothes to kill herself.
Poole is under 24-hour suicide watch.
Judge Ann Alton ordered Poole not to have contact with Reed's family. Alton then asked if anyone from his family was there. Told they were, the judge said, quote, "I want you to know how sorry I am. This is a terrible thing."
The judge also ordered Poole not to have contact with her children.
She said, "not by e-mail, phone, letter, they do not exist for you, do you understand?"
Even those who don't know the family were in court to show their support and sympathy
"I felt for that little boy. I'm going to the wake Monday. I'm taking my kids," said courtroom observer Linda Reynolds.
The aunt of Poole's two youngest children said that her brother, the children's father, is working to get custody, and child protection is working on future plans for the others.
Poole's next court appearance is scheduled for March 14.
She is being held in the Hennepin County jail on $1 million bail.

My stomach is really sickened, my little one is five years old and he just wants to snuggle...striking someone in anger is just way over the top and when it is a child it is so unnecessary. I am rarely without words but this is more than I can comprehend.

But what really gets me, is this woman had her own small children hold down the 4 year old, so she could beat him to death. What this article didn't say, was that they had to use dental records to ID him. There is some other things that have happened that this article didn't mention.

I'm thinking that they'll ship her out of state for a few years, until things calm down. Well, providing she gets prison time. She'll probably get off and spend some time in the loony bin, only to be released in about 5-10 years.

I hope they protect her from committing suicide as that is an easy way out for her. She needs to feel fear like that little boy did, she needs to be beaten to an inch of her life, then wait in fear for the next time.
How can anyone do that to a child and make her own children help her.
I feel sick thinking about it.
Over here a man has been given life as he sexually abused and beat his 2 month old baby girl who was born premature. His wife has mental issues. She should also be thrown in jail. There are some sick bastards in this world.

yeah, the thing i can't understand? she knew he was dead, and in her apartment? why the heck did she call the cops to report him as missing? if it were me? (but i'd never do something like this), i'd have at least moved the body some where else first...
i read that he had signs of some thing being shoved in his mouth. why? so she wouldn't have to listen to him screaming?
but honestly? no one even mentioned the "other" victims here...imagine what the 2 boys who held him down must be going through? what kind of effect is this going to have on them?

We'll be spending thousands of tax dollars on her while she is in the prison system and I'm certain for her defense...I'd prefer she disappear. Then we could spend all the money to get those babies the help they need. We can't save the one life she took but perhaps the boys could be saved with the right amount of help.
She's a vicious animal.

You are right Moonhowler, I should not have brought animals into it, they are too good to be compared to her!

My friend, an ex co, told me if he were to witness that "creature" getting some administered by her fellow inmates in the joint, he would look the other way. Hopefully, she'll get hers a little everyday......
