The Grammys...............
Am I alone in thinking who gives a f*ck who gets what award? As a young stud, back in the day.......way back, I was involved in music.....as I played in a band for about ten years, and even then, I wasn't interested in Grammy awards. Now, 25 years later, I have absolutely zero interest whatsoever.
It seems the artists today are in an endless freak show competition! Amy Winehouse? Did you see her on the show last night? What f*ckin' drug rehab is she a fugitive from? She looks like she's at death's door.
People actually applaud that piece of work? Pickings must be mighty slim..............
I know I'll be castigated for my opinion but that's how I see it!!

I don't get the Amy thing either Bill. I'm personally not a fan at all. I thought several of the people she was in the category with were more deserving of the award.  I guess there is a reason other people vote and not me.

Juilianna, I guess you and I are not in the demographic that advertisers are interested in, being that we don't buy her cd's or frequent her concerts.
Between you and I......she makes Keith Richard look almost lifelike! I'll bet she doesn't make 30y/o!!

I used to SO look forward to the Grammys until the advent of rap and hip hop. Since then, I couldnt care less. But then again, MTV used to be cool too. As far as that Amy chick is concerned, I hant even heard of her until her boney ass yap was all over the news for going into re-hab.

The last line of your first paragraph, and your third paragraph seem to contradict each other, which is it? Do you have zero interest? Or are you judging?
Personally, I don't care for award shows since I make up my own mind about what I like and don't like. I do like the mid sixties sound she managed to portray in Rehab, regardless of her personal life. But that's my humble opinion.

I like to compare these [and all movie and tv] awards to the "Motor Trend car or truck of the year"
All they do is pick the newest one.

I have zero interest as to who wins what Grammy award. The only reason I ever heard of that scare crow  was that I watched the early morning news this AM and they played that f*kin' story a bunch of times so I saw it at least a couple of times. When I heard her name mentioned, I couldn't help but check her out......man, what a freakin' train wreck her life will be! Don't you concur?

Actually I quite like her music, which comes as much as a surprise to me. She has a distinctive sound which I appreciate in these days of homogenized pap. She sounds a bit like a modern-day Billie Holliday to me.

i have to admit that before the event i saw a picture of Amy ? didnt even bother to watch,because if they give a walking freakshow like her any award(othr than that of being a walking freakshow) , why the hell would i want to see it anyway ?
