Re: Soul Mates
You'll know them when you meet them.
That's why they are a "soul mate".

Re: Soul Mates
yeah, i agree with Hob, ya know when you meet them...there is an initial chemistry..sexual and intellectual, physical and non-physical..its there and you both know it.
goes beyond the "infatuation" of the onset of a relationship...its something you sense and understand between the two of you.

Pook, you'll know my answer. Yes, they do exist!!, and I do believe that we have different soul mates for the different aspects of our personality.
I was lucky to marry my soul mate, but have friends who I would consider match certain aspects of my personality too, not 100% soul mate, but true.

Re: Soul Mates
I agree that there is a chemistry and attraction involved, but there is more to soul mates. For someone to be your soul mate, it stands the test of time. Your relationship steps beyond the initial excitement into reality and the love and respect is still there. It isn't hard to be in love for 2 weeks, or even 2 years, it is hard to still be in love when you know all that is drives you crazy about a man 20 years from now. It isn't hard to love someone who calls you all the time, sends you flowers, writes you love notes ... it is hard to love someone who focuses on work, forgets your birthday, strikes back at you. A soul mate is the person you want to hold you even when that person is the one who hurt you in the first place, because you know he (or she) is the only one who can make you whole again. A soul mate is someone who knows you aren't perfect and loves you anyways.

Re: Soul Mates
Some of the folks i talked to think that there is only one person for everyone, I don't believe that. I believe like most ofyou there can be several for diff parts of your life. I believe I've had 2 one platonic and one not , both female. And if I had to pick between the 2, I'd probably go with the platonic one. It's such a big wide world it's probable that there is more than one.
Like HBG i Think where the hell are they
FLP, you're lucky

Good description 40, but this is the best part, now that would be a true soul mate
A soul mate is the person you want to hold you even when that person is the one who hurt you in the first place,
