New Year's Eve "Who's online"
I've been here a long time now, and I know every New Year's Eve there are a few lonely ones, I've been one...I know what it's like, the whole New Year's celebration can be kinda dark for some, you want to look ahead, have all those optimistic thoughts about what could come around and your way in the New year, but on the night of celebration, it can be hard to do that on your own.
Maybe the next day, the next week, you'll feel brighter and better, but New year's eve, when you know people are kissing and toasting at midnight, singing Auld Lang Syne, making resolutions....it can be a blue time...
I have no idea what my plans are on that night, but I will as always be logging in and out throughout the day and night...send me a note, leave a reply here....and be assured if you do...I'll be one person thinking well of you and wishing you the best while I see in 2008.
Anyone else gonna be online that night and want to offer company to others?

Re: New Year's Eve "Who's online"
We're not doing anything, someone has to be at work by 6am. I will be in bed long before the stroke of midnight. But there's always next year. I have New Years off in 2009 and 2010.

Re: New Year's Eve "Who's online"
I'm not sure if I'll be awake at Midnight or not, the husband's sleep schedule is kinda funky right now, with his 12 hour shifts...but I do know I'll be checking in often as always!

If my little one is up we are going to be hanging out, but otherwise, I don't have any plans. I guess I will be ordering pizza.

Re: New Year's Eve "Who's online"
I never liked new years eve , seemed like a lot of hoopla about nothing. People going out to do what i would do any other night of the week. I tended bar for yrs on new years for a friend, once i stopped that I usually cook a scallop caserole, grab a cpl good movies and fall asleep by midnight I know boooooooring

Re: New Year's Eve "Who's online"
Oh, I sure don't like the idea (anymore) of going out and getting stinkin' drunk at some place that is charging some horrendous amount for a cover charge, dinner, live music just cuz it's New Year's eve....
But it is more to me an observance of a passing year, and the year to come...for some, that can be...as I said, a rather blue time if the past year hasn't been too kind...
I would hate for any of our members, active or lurkers...to feel blue just because of a day on the calendar....so....those online that day, be happy and party the crap out of the forums, and those that are blue and lonely...jump on in!

Re: New Year's Eve "Who's online"
I'll be working this New Years. It doesn't much matter to me. All that really changes is the year on the calander anyways. Desides, I won't have all my tax info until the end of january.

Re: New Year's Eve "Who's online"
I don't know what I'll be doing. This is the first time in 15 years I haven't had to work the Holiday Season (Christmas and New Years). I was at a complete loss. I know what I'd like to be doing, or should I say who I'd like to be doing,
