The year in review...
Looking back at this year, what stands out for you...personally, privately, news stories, family, etc...
I think first off of course about Liz and Smitty...
I think of the day the news broke about Shawn Hornbeck being found alive after four years,
I think about the major two stories in this country that are too "political" to speak of in detail.
...and I even think about how my husband has finally gone from acting like a total baby to at least acting like a little boy...hopefully in the time to come, he will eventually start acting like a grown man!

This past year, we've all followed the stories.....This coming year, may Maddie be found alive and well, and Natalie's family find the truth and closure they need...

Re: The year in review...
So far this year has been less about headlines and more about loss and self discovery. I've learned when you lose someone you love there is always something they gave to you that will be kept in your heart forever. Whether we lose a parent or a friend there is pain but depending on how you look at the circumstances you are faced with, you can think of their existance on this earth as a personal gift. I lost my mother and a very dear new friend in this last year and each of them helped make me a better person.
I expect more from myself and for myself. The beauty of our lives here on earth is change, it always happens and if we roll with it and try to readily accept what it has to offer we will continue to blossom. Nothing ever stays the same and that is progress, whether that comes at the price of losing a person through death, a break up or someone moving out of our lives.

Re: The year in review...
this has been a big year for me personally, i can't believe that my little girl is almost done with 1st grade...and i think i may have found a special lady that i have been looking for, i sure love spending time with her... i finally am content with the way my life is going, i feel less stressed, now that my ex-wife isn't nagging over every little thing or penny i spend....

Complete change personally, from being a full time mum to going to work and becoming me again.
Sad losses but happy findings in new friends .
Becoming a better person with more tolerance and understanding.
and of course, having more time to let fun back into our lives!!!

QUOTE (lonelyandhorny @ December 23, 2007, 23:56) the year seems to be ending on a happy note for me, my long lost brother, haven't heard from him in 15 years, and seen him in 22 years, finally decided to come home for the holiday, and seems to want to become part of the family again!!

Re: The year in review...
This is the year I am decided that "strong" isn't everything it's cracked up to be. It was a tough year, but I have my children and they are the best. Knowing that dinner has to be on the table every night, clothes have to be washed and money has to be made keeps me going. Getting that kiss goodnight - well that makes it all worth while. Damn this growing up isn't as much fun as I thought it was going to be.

Re: The year in review...
Starting a new job in a new school this time last year and then getting promoted and passing my intensive course to become a first response first aider.
Watching my oldest go from being a boy into a brilliant young man . My youngest over coming severe pain with his physio and still smiling.
Also this year i've learned alot about myself and not to let health problems get in the way of living.
I hope 2008 will be a happy year for everyone.
