Back in the day..........
I'm the last one to live in or crave the "good 'ole days"!! I don't remember it being any better when I was young. Hell, I still got up for work and still was broke by mid week......just like now. Maybe times where simpler but that's about it.
One thing I do miss around this time of year was when the SEARS CHRISTMAS CATALOG came in the mail. I used to look at that thing a million times a day, wishing I could get this item or that toy. The sky was the limit with that catalog.
I'm sure people of my age group can remember that catalog. How do you remember the Xmas season when you were young?

Yes, I remember the Sears Christmas catalog. My brother and I used to fight over it, of course I would always win when my parents weren't around anyway. I would spend hours looking and wishing. That catalog would barely make it through to x-mas before it was trashed out.

Bill, i also remember those "good ol days" when a fight between two guys over a girl was handled with fists and name-calling. nobody got out their guns and started spraying bullets into a crowd of kids ! just another reason for me to miss those " good ol days " !!!!!!

Dave, I remember those kinds of disagreements being settled with some lame ass fisticuffs, you know the kind, not too many punches landed but a whole lot of huffin' and puffin' by the participants. No guns a blazin'. The best part of fist fights were you were more than likely not as mad after the fight and sometimes became friends with the other person. Happened to me a couple of times!
The difference between then and now is........I no longer get into any fisticuffs!!!

Ah...I remember being told that it was polite not to be greedy and only ask Santa for just one toy, the rest of the stuff under the tree were things of necessity...like good shoes for school, warm gloves and scarf...but it was still all so special.
