Vick's fans
Can someone please explain why Micheal Vick's team and fans chose to show so much public support for him?
I just don't get it...what the man did just seems so cold, cruel and black hearted I can't imagine why anyone, let alone so many would show so much loyalty and support?
I'm not a big sports fan for sure, and I just don't understand the rally behind a man who did such dispicable acts....I must be missing something?
I abhore animal abuse, but if someone can please explain this, I will listen respectfully.

Re: Vick's fans
I would have to agree with you Chazzy. The only up side to this, is that Vick had put up $900,000 in a trust to care for and rehabilitate those dogs. So far out of the 12 dogs, 8 have found new homes and 4 are still waiting. I'm sure that there is more to the trust fund, but I'm not aware of it.

Chazzy, Do you remember a police chase in California with a white Bronco???? How the people lined the route with signs supporting OJ? Fame makes people exempt from the law. Doesn't matter what they did, OVI..aw they had a bad day on the set and the reporters didn't write a nice story on them. AWW they didn't know they couldn't fight dogs and it was against the law and so on and so on and so on. How many of us could do what some of the things that the rich and famous actors, sports (seems like NFL has more than fair share) and political people have done and not gone to prison before they finally end up there. If your famous, your fans and supporters will BLINDLY SUPPORT YOU. Kill someone or several people-The Cops Framed You. If they can do that when a person is killed..can we expect it to be different when it only involves "Dumb Animals" (someone kills or hurts mine-I'm going to jail) Society today is very screwed up on values...What the hell has happened????

Re: Vick's fans
Actually, almost 60 dogs were seized, only one had to be destroyed. GO CHAZZY! My experience is animal lovers are good people. I work with a rescue, but I am the odd one. I take the people aggressive/dog aggressive dogs that no one else will. But, they rehabilitate me, I just give back what little I can in return. I, so far, have not had one that did not come around and become adoptable. It is not the dog's fault that some genius taught it to behave that way, I see no need for those animals to be destroyed (oh, 1 day may suck when I get one that won't come around). It is blatant ignorance that makes people treat animals that way, those who abuse animals usually treat people the same way. People who think animals are property, well, they should become property and get a sample. Besides, animals are intelligent, sentient beings...dogs are just eager to please! If we were all more like dogs, the world would be great, less war, greed, corruption. I must agree with whoever said 'stars' like OJ are beyond reproach, unfortunately so are the authorities and lawmakers, often great lawbreakers themselves! WTF has the world come to!
