....To the back of the bus with you.........
I was wondering if any of had the opportunity to have flown first class and by what method had you procured your first class seats. Did you flat out pay the first class air fare? Did you upgrade to first class via trade in of your frequent flyer miles? Maybe you had an issue with a non-functioning seat while seated in coach and the flight attendant moved you to the first class cabin as a courtesy?
....Or maybe, just maybe you kept a close watch on the online fares to see when the coach seats filled up?
When and how you've flown in first class is my question! Well.......?

When I was frequent flyer for my company with US Air and if first class wasn't full they would move me to first class. First class is nice but , in my opinion, not worth the extra money. There is a big difference in cost

Yeh, I have never purchased a full fare first class ticket and never will but I have taken voluntary bumps and sometimes been given first class seating on the next available flight. I've also used my frequent flyer mileage to purchase a first class seat.
My wife and I always book early morning flights as they are favorites of business flyers and also prime flights for walk up "gotta go now-full coach fare" customers. As such, the airline will gladly sell them a full coach fare ticket and ask for volunteers to give up their discounted seats in order to seat that full coach fare customer. That's when you have your best opportunity to get a first class seat upgrade.....all you do is ask for the upgrade or the gate person might offer you a first class seat upgrade just for volunteering.
Try it next time when you are not in any particular hurry.

People who choose to fly only first class dont impress me much, however, if they were to purchase the actual airline then maybe that would, lol!
Seriously though, i think first class is just a money making racket. Nobody is that much better or important than anyone else. Snobbishness is just not attractive.

I'd never buy it either, not impressed but one time i was only one in 1st class on a weekend flight home. Had my own flight attendant and she made sure my Hienekin was never empty and a nice meal. I'd never say no

My original question was had anyone had the opportunity to fly in first class as in complimentary and not actually buy a full first class ticket. Such as an upgrade that you got for free.
It is a nice change from riding in coach. There is more leg room and you get hot food as apposed to a bag of peanuts and a soda.
