male/female friendships
Something another member put on forum got me thinking.
I have had male friends for many years, but generally speaking, male and female friendships can have ulteria motives. Are you in agreement that the male ultimately fancies the female or do you disagree.

Re: male/female friendships
I have 2 very good female friends, one of whom I did have alterior motives toward for a long time, to the point where I thought I was in love with her. I kept my mind to myself though, and my hands, and eventually I got over myself. She's now one of my best friends
The other girl I just don't like in that way. She's not ugly or anything like that :p she just doens't appeal to me as a partner.
I think platonic friendship is possible... as a rule it's more possible than men think it is, but way less than women do!

Re: male/female friendships
I think with guys there usually a motive. Just my opinion.
I consider you a good friend and I have no alterior motives BUTT you know what I think of lingerie and bunns an legs . Bad boy pook My best friend in my life is a woman and I have no motives other than friendship . I am probably afraid if anything ever happened it may ruin our friendship , to be honest. I would never want to lose that. In this case sex would definitel be second to the friendship

I have got loads of female friends, who I've kept as female friends. In fact my 3 best friends happen to be female. With some of my female friends, I guess I had an ulteria motive, but having discussed the situation with that person, luckily so far, things have worked out for the better and we've stayed as friends.
Not sure if that answers ur qu? But ultimately I think if you are on the right level and terms with ur opposite sex friend, then in theory even if u had an ulteria motive intention, things tend to work out best at the end. Maybe then you will realise what that person is all about, whether he/she was willing to be a friend only for that ulteria motive (whehter it be relationship, marriage or sex)? Or whether he/she was really there for you in all intention, whatever the case. If you had zit, scars, and moles? All depends on the person at the end of the day.
Personally, I think the same as pookhabear, I'd say there would be a higher% of guys who would have an motive (in the sexual nature) compared to women.

Re: male/female friendships
Alot of my friends are female, and i would be lying if i said I wasn't attracted to one or two of them. but that's it! I would never consider spoiling a friendship by trying to push it further, unless they felt the same.
unfortunately this has happened once and it was horrible! I was head over heels for her and had to tell her....needles to say our friendship ended pretty much there, which was A shame because we were really close....BTW the 'one or two' mentioned above know that I like then and they are OK with it,if anything it's helped our friendship just by being that little more open.

Re: male/female friendships
I did have it happen once with a good friend. We were good friends for about 5 yrs and then one night when we were out, it happened. The sex was great but the friendship was never the same after that

Re: male/female friendships
I have made a few female friends on here and I can honestly say that it has nothing to do with physical attractions but with being able to hold a real conversation.
