Re: BLIND DATE
I think the whole idea of a blind date, is that you don't know who that person is and see what happens on the day.
They say that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", but ther isn't a true saying that "looks aren't everything". I mean who knows that that person who may not look as ideal as you had hoped, may well be a realy nice guy or even a really hot lover.
Personally, I think I would still go ahead on the date, it would be rude not to. If I were on the other side of the coin, so to speak, if I were waiting for my date, and never came forward, I'd think 2 things, either - she forgot and had 2nd thoughts or I'd think that she did as a joke and feel humiliated either way.
Whatever the blind date, I'm sure there was effort made on both sides. But with anything, it's a 2 way street. So give the guy a chance at least, and if it doesn't work the first time, at least you know you tried your best on both sides.
(Man experienced with several rejections, though not really had a blind date, but I sure would feel that at least make an effort, spend the night together, you never know where it may lead...but at least give it a go)

Re: BLIND DATE
I agree - it would be rude not to continue with the date and the feeling of humilation is not something I would ever want to make someone feel. Remember what goes around comes around.

Re: BLIND DATE
I would have to agree with the others. I was set up on a blind date once. She was a very nice gal, in looks and personality, but I knew that there would be nothing further. We had no chemistry. Had fun on the date so I can say that I tried.

Re: BLIND DATE
Never really been on a blind date, unless you count dating somebody you first met while blind drunk?
I don't think I'd walk out, nobody could be that anattractive. I've met gorgeous girls who were bitches, and brutes who were bitches too. You don't know what a person's going to be like until you give them a chance.

Re: BLIND DATE
i personally am attracted to one's personality over looks...that being said, if she was un-attractive to me, i'd still make her acquaintance and just cut the date real short...

Never...to me, that would just be rude, selfish and cowardly. It would be very impolite to say the least, to the date and the person who set it up.
If one cannot handle the possible consequences of a blind date, then one should never agree to them.
One never knows, what may not be the hot romance of the century, could still turn out to be a very treasured friendship . Ya just never know!

Re: BLIND DATE
Your blind date may feel the same way about you and would you want that done to you (you, being 3rd person )Not that I think I'm that special but I don't think I could EVER hurt someone like that. That would be sooooo mean and you know what they say about mean people. They suck LOL

Re: BLIND DATE
I would still meet with them as it could turn out to be the best date ever, and if the sparks didn't fly, it could be the start of a great friendship

Re: BLIND DATE
it was the summer of 1965 when i met my first wife on a blind date arranged by a buddy of mine. he had a date with a hot girl from another town, but her parents wouldnt allow her to go out with him unless it was a double-date.she asked a girlfriend and he begged me to go along so he could make a good impression on the girls folks. welllll, we dated for awhile, broke up, then got back together and subsequently married. BIG mistake !after 10 years of marriage,4 kids and some good/bad times,we were divorced. i would beare a grudge against my buddy, except for my kids and delightful grandchildren.....

Could be that rude or immature to run away and as HBG said, it could be the start of a great friendship . Friends last a lifetime, lovers sometimes dont!!
