Biking to Florida
I'm planning to ride my motorcycle to Florida sometime next year,I'd like to go to Daytona bike week but I can't so I'm just going to try to get to Daytona Beach and then come back to WV.I would like to ask if anyone between Philippi,WV and Daytona could give info on good place's to stay or camp out,and the best rt.to take,I'm not going to have much money so I need to go cheap as possible and hope my bike don't break down. It's something I've always wanted to do.

Re: Biking to Florida
Long ride. Sounds like a blast, tho. Be curious about your time frame? Doing it alone, or planning to ride with other people?
Depending on the time you have, check out the national and state park systems along your expected route. You can do most of your trip planning right on the internet.

Re: Biking to Florida
I'm assuming PEPPER might be one of the best help on that one. Maybe for those others who, too, lives down in that direction.
Good luck on your journey.

Re: Biking to Florida
Check KOA Kampgrounds. I checked for a trip from Rhode Island to Florida and they have plenty along your route.

Re: Biking to Florida
I guess I'll be going by my self,I could ride down in one day then stay a couple of days to check the place out then come home.I'm hoping to take some pictures along the way down and back, may come home a different way so I can see more sites.I'm a member of triple A and I can get a trip tick from then but don't know if they have camp sites or sites to see.I'll try to find the KOA Kampgrounds book,my brother had one along time ago he might be able to get me one. I'll see what everyone else on here thinks, any info will help

Re: Biking to Florida
Just google KOA, you can put in origin and destination. They will gice you a route with all the campgrounds. They have cabins so you don't have to bring tents etc. It's pretty cool, good luck.

Re: Biking to Florida
Hope you got an iron butt, there Studley???? That's gotta be 850 miles one way???? I can only last about 400 miles before the old bones need to find a soft chair and at least six beers to wash down the aspirin.
More power to ya, tho. Have a great ride...and a safe one!
