Complaining..
If you receive poor service or are displeased with a purchase, are you quite happy to complain?..or do you prefer to keep quiet, overlook it and just to put it down to a bad experience?
Oh boy,,,I am not afraid to complain!. A bunch of us had lunch out on Sunday, and it was all just awful, from the dreadful service to the terrible food,,,Yuk! I did clearly express my dissatisfaction to the manager and the chef, but, I declined the offer of a replacement meal, incase he spit in it, peed in it, or, well.... You know what in it!! !! It has been known to happen.!!

Re: Complaining..
it all depends on the situation....but if i go out to eat, and my food is'nt very good...unless it's really, really bad...i tend not to complain. i cook for a living, so i know what it's like. but, on the other hand, when i'm at work (cooking), i would rather be told if i made something wrong, or if it was over/under cooked, or whatever....then i can be sure to get it right the next time!

Re: Complaining..
I worked retail for a very long time, and I have figured out that if you make a complaint in a very nice manner, and not a demanding manner, you tend to get whatever you ask for and then some. So I am very nice and polite when I make a complaint. But with that said, I always pay for what I get.

Re: Complaining..
Bad food get a complaint, very good gets a compliment.
Bad service gets below 15% tip and a complaint, good to avg service 20% tip. Good service with personality gets 30% tip and a compliment to mgr
If food is bad it's not the waitresses fault, some people take it out on waitress
I worked retail all my adult life, good service is rare today so it is greatly appreciated when it happens

A bad meal? in the U.K.?!
o.k., o.k....that wasn't fair...
I will complain, if I feel that I should have expected something VERY good...however, since I live in the land of mediocrity, I have gotten rather used to expecting all goods and services to be sub-par, so, at this point, I generally only complain, when i feel as though I have paid VERY well ( i.e, more than normal...) for something. oh, yeah...and after days, and weeks on end of average, pitiful, mediocrity, I have been known to have an occasional freak-out, even at the poorly trained, attitude-saturated,
numb-nuts wielding my fries and burger at the drive-thru, on those rare occasions I frequent them, due to time constraints. If I have the energy on that particular day. Otherwise, I just wipe off the specifically NOT requested mayonaise, and go on my merry way!

Re: Complaining..
I complain via my wallet. It is amazing what you can see by simply taking a couple of minutes to watch what is going on. Especially in restaurants and bars. Bad service simply means no business from me. Don't care if it is Mickey D's or a name brand store. Don't waste my time offering complaints.
