HELP!! with chatroom
Is there anyone out there who can help me get access into the chatroom's. I'm running xp I have shut off my firewall, lowered my security to medium, shut off the filters on aol I've added webnaughty to have full access on my security options and I still can't get in. Somebody please help me, I don't know what else to do.

Make sure you have Java installed, working properly, and it is updated, too.
If that doesn't help, check out the support tab.

Look over the member's support forum and see maybe you can find a thread where someone else has had a similiar or same problem, might be some suggestions there that can help.

I wish I coulda spent more time online today with you...
I'm not very advanced with this stuff..but check your "java control panel/settings and look for "use browser settings" and "Use proxy server"...mine is set for "use browser settings" and chat is working for me...
Now opening the java control panel..I dunno if you have the icon showing in your lower task bar, that's another setting to change in the control panel, to display the icon or not, mine is not displayed so I go to the top tool bar, Tools/java console...then the icon displays in the lower task bar, then I right click on that to get the pop up menu then open "java control panel...

Hopefully, maybe...if someone is online tonight that is running XP can get in touch with you and go over and compare their settings with yours by private message and get you through this...if I see you online, I'll try...but I'm not sure how much time online I"ll have tonight..

Also check any pop up blockers you may have with any browser, toolbars, antivirus programs...what antivirus are you using by the way? What brower? Are you using IE, firefox, mozilla? Any details could help

I might pop offline here and there, but I'll keep checking on ya right here as long as I can tonite, hopefully we'll hit on the problem and get you into chat...hopefully someone who knows more about this kinda thing will come along and be a big help!

I run on Mozilla Firefox and don't have any problems. Only thing I had to do when I got my new PC was to upload Java

Okay...I just went to google, and put in the keyword search
"AOL and Java problems"....
Looks like there could be quite a few links there that could straighten this out...maybe do a search and see if anything strikes you as helpful?
