Lip Syncing
I really don't care if an artist lip syncs on some TV late show, or one of those awards shows but I can't believe some think it's fine to do for a paying concert audience!
I would be so screaming mad if I paid good money for a concert and all I got was someone dancing and fake singing to a loud recording. Oh sure, I think they justify it by saying that they can't do the dancing and sing too...
Ah that's just sad, back in the day when I did frequent the concerts... that was the appeal, to see a live performance that was going to be more personal, more real than the studio mixed and perfected recorded version of the music.

Re: Lip Syncing
Hell, I get pissed when I go to the concert and they just play what's on the CD anyways. Freestyle it! Include some solos and fillers that you don't have on the CD! Give us something extra!

Re: Lip Syncing
If they can't do all the dancing and singing, then save the dancing for the videos, and just do the damn singing for real in concert!

Re: Lip Syncing
I despise lip syncing in live shows. And, it does not just happen so they can sing and dance which I do not see as an excuse for it either. Sometimes the live band or orchestra actually plays along with a recording so the live music will sound like it does in a recording studio and the singer or singers will lip sync to this. I cannot stand this. Live music is different than recorded music and always will be. Anyhow, I have gone to Branson, MO quite a bit and have experienced lip syncing in live shows there. I do love to say that what I have experienced has not been the country artists doing it...at least the ones I have seen live there still do it live.
Better sound...purer sound...excuses like this are what is used for the lip syncing to recorded music...but this is the artist ego playing a role and not what a live audience is looking for.

Re: Lip Syncing
I love live music!
I'd rather go to a local bar and hear a local cover band play live, then sit through some "star" lipsyncing...
