A really big "to do" list...
I got one, do you? What's on your list? Do you ever get to cross things off of it?
Dammit, our kitchen re do is just so stalled for a couple of years now, all because the husband and I can't agree on counter tops...he wants sleek modern granite which I think will just look silly in our country farm kitchen with it's wood floor and wrought iron hardware, beadboard ceiling and I want butcher block...so I'm still looking at the gawd awful cheap stained warped laminate crap...
It seems every room in the house is stalled out, not quite finished, cuz we just can't find that compromise on something to finally finish it out...geez, can't even compromise on a toilet seat!

Re: A really big "to do" list...
I have that 1. damn water faucet in the backyard. It leaks terribly and I did have someone come and tell me what to do - now I just need to get the time, energy and inclination to fix it. 2. Replaster where the plumber fixed the upstairs shower. 3. Fix the sprinkler system in the backyard. 4. Plant new plants (since the old ones died do to the lack of water. 5. Work 6. Make dinner 7. Make cookies ----
I better stop this is depressing me. Where are the guys who come over and bring food, wine and flowers?

What a great idea Chazzy - big chocolate chips and a glass of wine, a wonderful way to end the day.

Hmmmm, sounds wonderful. I love shrimp, and especially food that I don't have to cook.

Go with the butcher block. Modern granite in a new home would look great but in a 100 yr old farm house, yuck

Re: A really big "to do" list...
That's my thinkin' too, butcher block would look just great with the wood dinette set and the wood floors...we're keeping the original cabinets.
But to get it done my way, I'll probably have to call his mom! He listens to his mom!

Re: A really big "to do" list...
I gotta haul some firewood too, except my husbands stacks firewood like a city boy, so at times, it's like playing hillbilly jenga, try to pull off logs of firewood without the whole stack falling down.

Re: A really big "to do" list...
Okay dammit, now I've added another big project on my list...to convert a first floor closet into a laundry area with washer/dryer hook up cuz it's just not good enough for me to have the washer/dryer in the basement anymore, it's damp, dark and cluttered.

Oh yeah, my kinda man!!! My husband started the bathroom redo, I finished it....like a year later!
Hell, he'll talk about it....I get tired of hearing nothing but talk, so I'll just get up and finish it.

Well, my to do list is smaller now that the day is almost over. My dishes are done, floor is swept and mopped. Tomorrow morning is when my to do list starts again. lol My sis and her husband are coming over for dinner. I'm so looking forward to them coming to visit and welcome them into my new home. And oh how I love to cook for company!

Well lets see. Bed and Tape the bedroom. Hang sheet-rock in hallway, then bed and tape. Wire the utility room and bathroom. Insulate and sheet-rock. Hang doors. Plumb the bathroom. Winterize the house, clean out wall furnace. Winterize both pickups and motorcycle. Oh yeah mow the lawn one last time. (I hope).

Hmmm Ok...So what exactly does "bed and tape" entail?
Is it as interesting as it sounds?

Bedding and taping not as much fun as you would think..It's putting "mud" (plaster like mixture) and paper tape on the seams and corners, then sanding it dries and doing it again.
